Monsanto's pioneering 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, first produced in 1982 from vines Fabrizio Bianchi planted in the 'Il Mulino' vineyard in the mid-1970s. The name references the Latin saying 'Nemo propheta in patria' ('no one is a prophet in his own land'), a nod to the estate's history of experimenting outside the boundaries of Chianti Classico tradition.
Nemo proved decades ago that Tuscany could do world-class Cabernet Sauvignon on its own terms — it remains one of the region's most age-worthy international varietals.
