Rainero Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico
Castello di Meleto
Sangiovese
About this wine
An unusual classic-method sparkling rosé made from 100% Sangiovese, a grape normally reserved for still red wines. Kept in contact with selected yeasts for around 36 months, it offers a particularly fresh, lively character thanks to Sangiovese's natural acidity, with balanced, complex aromas well suited to both aperitivo and the table, especially with fish.
A fascinating conversation-starter for those curious how a classic red grape performs as sparkling wine.

Chianti Classico DOCG
RedSangiovese
The flagship Chianti Classico of Castello di Meleto, a blend of grapes from the estate's three historic plots of Meleto, Poggiarso and Casi. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with 10-12 days of maceration and aged around 12-15 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, it shows a vibrant ruby red color with aromas of red berries, violet and gentle spice, framed by refined tannins and a persistent finish that speaks of the Gaiole in Chianti terroir.
Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG
RedSangiovese
A selection of the best hand-picked grapes from the estate's five sub-zones — Casi, Meleto, Poggiarso, Moci and San Piero. Aged 21-24 months, split between large 30 hL Slavonian oak barrels and 50 hL French oak casks, resulting in a ruby red wine with garnet reflections, ripe fruit, aromatic herbs and peppery spice, with a full, complex and persistent palate framed by soft tannins.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG
RedSangiovese
Castello di Meleto's estate-blend Gran Selezione, the highest tier of Chianti Classico classification, made from carefully selected Sangiovese from the property's best plots. Aged 27 months in large 50 hL and 30 hL oak casks, it shows an intense red color, a powerful, rich nose of spice, ripe red fruit and lavender, and a structured palate with lively yet velvety tannins, great persistence and balance.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Vigna Casi
RedSangiovese
A single-vineyard Gran Selezione made exclusively from Sangiovese grown in the Casi vineyard, positioned at roughly 450 meters above sea level on soils of arenaria (sandstone) and galestro (schist). The vineyard is split between Casi Sopra, farmed with the traditional alberello (bush vine) method, and Casi Sotto, trained on Guyot, giving the wine a distinctive mineral, structured character.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Vigna Poggiarso
RedSangiovese
A single-vineyard Gran Selezione made exclusively from Sangiovese grown in the Poggiarso vineyard, at around 500 meters above sea level on rocky soils of alberese, clay and galestro. The south-facing exposure creates significant day-night temperature swings, and the rocky, skeletal terrain produces an austere, structured style of Sangiovese, aged 27 months in 50 hL French oak casks.
Camboi Toscana IGT Rosso
RedMalvasia Nera
A rare single-varietal expression of Malvasia Nera del Chianti, grown in the Camboi plot — named for Campo dei Buoi, an area once used for ox breeding until the 1960s, when Malvasia Nera vines were planted there. Aged about a year in third- and fourth-passage barriques, it shows a ruby red color with violet hues, notes of small red fruits, florals and sweet spices, and a full, intense palate with mature, well-integrated tannins.
