About this wine
Quindicianni ("fifteen years" in Italian) is Cascina Baricchi's other Barbaresco Riserva bottling, held back by the estate for roughly five years in barrel and a further ten years in bottle before release — hence the name. Since the 2007 vintage it, too, is made from 100% Nebbiolo Rosé sourced from the historic Casasse vineyard, planted in 1913; earlier vintages blended Casasse's Rosé fruit with Nebbiolo Michet from the Roncaglie cru. The extended aging gives Quindicianni a darker, more brooding profile on release than Rosé delle Casasse, with the wine typically still on the early end of its maturity after a decade and a half in the cellar, showing black fruit, leather, licorice and refined, well-integrated tannins.
A pre-aged Barbaresco that arrives cellar-ready — 15 years in the making before it even reaches the shelf.
Sommelier's Note
"Fifteen years of patient aging before release means Quindicianni is never a wine you have to wait for — only one you get to enjoy immediately."
Food Pairings
Its dark fruit, leather, licorice and mineral core stand up well to braised beef, aged game, truffle-based dishes and hard aged cheeses.
When to drink it

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is it called "Quindicianni"?
- "Quindicianni" means "fifteen years" in Italian — the estate ages the wine roughly 5 years in barrel and 10 more years in bottle before releasing it commercially.
- Is it the same grape as Rosé delle Casasse?
- From the 2007 vintage onward, yes — both are 100% Nebbiolo Rosé from the Casasse vineyard. Older vintages of Quindicianni included some Nebbiolo Michet from the Roncaglie cru.
- Do I need to decant it?
- Given its extended cellar aging, it is largely ready to drink on release, though a short 30-60 minute decant can help it open more expressively.
- Is it easy to find at retail?
- It's produced in small volumes and released only years after the vintage, so availability is limited mainly to specialist retailers and importers.
