Paretaio

パレタイオ

Casale Falchini

Sangiovese · Merlot

About this wine

One of Casale Falchini's Super Tuscan reds, produced from grapes grown in the Paretaio vineyard in San Gimignano — roughly 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot, aged 12 months in small French oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle before release. Deep ruby red tending to garnet, with a clean scent of ripe morello cherry and prune, notes of leather and tobacco, and a dry, spicy, harmonious palate with elegant, mouth-filling cherry fruit.

Beginner's Note

A great-value entry into Super Tuscan reds — structured but approachable, without a premium price tag.

Sommelier's Note

"Often called a 'Super Tuscan value' — Paretaio delivers the structure and dark-fruit intensity of the category at a fraction of the price of its famous rivals."

Food Pairings

Ideal with red meat dishes, grilled game, pasta with ragù, grilled pork, and aged non-spicy cheeses like Pecorino.

When to drink it

Sunday roast dinners, barbecue with friends, casual celebrations.
