Cantina Francone

Arneis

About this wine

Magia is Cantina Francone's Roero Arneis DOCG, made from grapes picked about a week later than typical, when they turn golden, to build extra richness and texture. The nose offers fresh citrus, pear and nectarine with floral hints of broom and chamomile and spicy notes of sage and thyme; the palate is savory and medium-bodied, with tangy acidity, juicy pear, pineapple, grapefruit and a saline mineral finish.

Beginner's Note

An easy, aromatic white that's a friendly entry point into Piedmont's white wines.

Sommelier's Note

"Francone's late-picked approach gives Magia more texture than most Roero Arneis at this level — worth seeking out."

Food Pairings

A versatile white for seafood antipasti, fried calamari, and vegetable-forward pasta dishes; its saline finish also works well with soft, fresh cheeses.

When to drink it

Casual aperitivo, seafood lunches, warm-weather gatherings.
