Barbera

About this wine

A single-vineyard Barbera from the Ciabot Contessa site near Cherasco. Aged in oak barrels of varying sizes and ages for two years, followed by a further year and a half in bottle before release — an unusually long élevage for Barbera. The result is a deep ruby-garnet wine with a vinous, spicy nose showing hints of oak, and a dry, silky palate with the variety's signature bright acidity.

Beginner's Note

An approachable, food-friendly red with bright acidity — a great entry point into Piedmontese Barbera.

Sommelier's Note

"Proof that Barbera doesn't need Nebbiolo's price tag to show real ageing potential — this cru bottling rewards patience."

Food Pairings

Versatile at the table — pairs well with pizza, fresh pasta with tomato-based sauces, and roasted meats.

When to drink it

Everyday dinners, casual gatherings with pizza or pasta.
