Torre Muga

トーレ・ムガ

Bodegas Muga

Tempranillo · Mazuelo · Graciano

About this wine

Torre Muga was the winery's first modern-style red wine, launched with the 1991 vintage as a riper, more fruit-forward counterpart to the traditional Reserva and Gran Reserva bottlings. Sourced from higher-altitude vineyards (500-550m) on southwest-facing foothills in Rioja Alta, it is a blend of roughly 75% Tempranillo, 15% Mazuelo and 10% Graciano. The wine ages around 18 months in new French oak barriques from Allier, giving it a distinctive stamp of toast, coffee and dark chocolate over a core of ripe blackberry and black cherry. Powerful yet polished, with silky, well-integrated tannins and a very long finish, Torre Muga bridges Rioja tradition and modern winemaking.

Beginner's Note

A bolder, more modern face of Rioja — great for those who love new-world-style fruit intensity paired with old-world structure.

Sommelier's Note

"Torre Muga proves that Rioja can be both powerful and elegant at once — a modern classic that ages as gracefully as it impresses young."

Food Pairings

Ideal with grilled ribeye, venison, and dishes finished with dark chocolate or coffee-based sauces.

When to drink it

Special dinners, steakhouse pairings, and gifting to serious wine collectors.
