About this wine

Blandy's 10 Year Old Bual is a medium-rich Madeira made from 100% Bual grapes and matured for an average of ten years in seasoned American oak casks using the canteiro system. It shows a deep amber colour with golden edges, and offers soft aromas of Seville orange marmalade, quince, honeycomb and walnuts. The palate is well balanced, with marmalade, cinnamon, cardamom and candied orange peel, finishing with a gentle hint of ginger.

Beginner's Note

A gentle, marmalade-and-nut style that bridges dry Sercial and sweet Malmsey — an easy way into richer Madeira styles.

Sommelier's Note

"The most versatile of the four noble styles — rich enough for dessert, balanced enough for a cheese board."

Food Pairings

A fine accompaniment to foie gras, aged gouda and blue cheeses, dried fruits and nuts, fruitcake, and crème brûlée.

When to drink it

After-dinner with cheese or dessert, autumn evenings
