About this wine

An intense, brilliant ruby-red Langhe DOC Rosso blend of 70% Barbera, 20% Nebbiolo, and 10% Merlot, with garnet tinges. Fragrant and fine on the nose with ripe fruit and sweet spice notes, soft and velvety on the palate, well balanced and structured. Fermented on the skins for about a week in steel, followed by malolactic fermentation, then aged in wood for around two years.

Beginner's Note

A velvety, internationally-styled blend that softens Piedmont's usual tannic edges.

Sommelier's Note

"Sassisto's Merlot addition gives it a velvety roundness that sets it apart from Bera's purer Piedmontese reds."

Pairs well with braised red meats, game, and aged pecorino.
