Arrighi Vigne e Olivi

Viognier

About this wine

A Toscana IGT 100% Viognier — a French variety that has adapted well to Elba's drought-prone microclimate. Fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature, with the must finishing fermentation in 300-liter second-passage Burgundy barriques, then aged 4 months in bottle. Floral notes of lily of the valley, lemon blossom, narcissus, gardenia, acacia and lavender lead to fruity peach and citrus peel; warm and round on the palate with moderate salinity and a persistent apricot finish.

Beginner's Note

A fragrant, textured Viognier that shows what barrique aging brings to Elba's international-variety experiments.

Sommelier's Note

"The most opulent white in the Arrighi range — barrique-aged Viognier with real aromatic complexity."

Food Pairings

Its aromatic richness and moderate salinity pair well with roasted white meats, creamy risottos, and semi-hard cheeses.

When to drink it

Special dinners, roasted poultry pairing, autumn and winter white-wine occasions
