About this wine
An Elba Rosso DOC made from 100% Sangioveto (Elba's native Sangiovese clone). Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates with immediate destemming, fermented in steel with 6-8 days of maceration, then aged 6 months in bottle. Notes of small red fruits, sour cherry, wild cherry and light tobacco lead to a fresh, balanced, light-tannin palate.
Light-bodied and food-friendly — an easy first taste of Elba's native red grape.
Sommelier's Note

WhiteAnsonica
An experimental 'marine wine' born in 2018 with researchers from the University of Milan and University of Pisa, recreating the ancient winemaking method of Chios described by classical sources. Ansonica grapes are submerged in wicker baskets in the sea off Elba for about five days to remove their bloom, then sun-dried, fermented, and left on the skins in terracotta amphorae for six months. The result is a deep golden, almost opalescent wine with intense notes of iodine, brine, algae, oyster, tropical fruit, almond, chamomile, beeswax and Mediterranean scrub.

WhiteProcanico · Ansonica · Biancone
Elba Bianco DOC blending three grapes historically cultivated by Elban farmers — Procanico, Ansonica and Biancone. Vinified in steel to preserve freshness, it captures the everyday, family-table character of the island's white wine tradition.

WhiteAnsonica
A Toscana Bianco IGT named for the Roman Valerius Messalla, owner of the Villa delle Grotte, an ancient Roman domus discovered at San Giovanni in the gulf of Portoferraio where wine was already produced in Roman times. 100% Ansonica grapes undergo long maceration in Impruneta terracotta amphorae, with the must left in contact with skins for six months.

WhiteChardonnay · Incrocio Manzoni
A Toscana IGT white blending Chardonnay with Incrocio Manzoni (a Riesling x Pinot Bianco cross), the result of long experimentation with agricultural research bodies ARSIA and CREA. Billed as the first white barrique-style wine and first Manzoni experiment on Elba, it is round, dry, and shows good acidity.
エルミア
Hermia
WhiteViognier
A Toscana IGT white named after Hermia, a Roman cellar slave who signed storage vessels (dolia) at the Roman villa of San Giovanni on Elba some 2,100 years ago. Viognier grapes undergo long skin-contact maceration in 800-liter terracotta amphorae before five months of bottle aging, reviving the ancient practice of fermenting and aging wine in clay.
