Rosato di Ampeleia

ロザート・ディ・アンペレイア

Ampeleia

Carignano · Alicante Nero

About this wine

A coral-pink rosé made by infusing whole clusters of Alicante Nero in the must of Carignano (roughly 80/20). Wild berry, strawberry and raspberry lead, followed by honeydew melon, redcurrant and a slight nutty finish, with candied citrus zest and cranberry aromatics, present acidity and a dry, generous mouthfeel.

Beginner's Note

A serious, food-friendly rosé for those who find pale Provençal styles too simple.

Sommelier's Note

"This is a rosé with the structure of a light red — proof that Ampeleia doesn't make a 'lesser' category wine even in pink."

Food Pairings

Excellent with hard cheeses, cured meats and fish crudo; also try it with baba ganoush, grilled sardines or fennel sausage.
