Corvina Veronese · Oseleta

About this wine

La Grola is a single-vineyard IGT/DOC red from Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, sourced from the historic hillside vineyard many believe to be the birthplace of the Corvina grape. Sitting just below La Poja and Amarone in Allegrini's range, it blends predominantly Corvina Veronese with a touch of Oseleta, aged in French oak to produce a wine of dark-fruit intensity, spice, and polished tannins.

Beginner's Note

A great step up from everyday Valpolicella — concentrated dark-fruit character without Amarone's weight.

Sommelier's Note

"Named for the vineyard many consider Corvina's ancestral home, La Grola shows what the grape can do outside Amarone's shadow — dark, spiced, and remarkably food-friendly."

Food Pairings

Pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, braised short ribs, and grilled red meats; equally at home with mushroom risotto, stuffed portobello, and aged Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano.

When to drink it

Weeknight dinners with grilled meats, casual gatherings with wine-loving friends.

What food pairs well with La Grola?
Roasted red meats, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses like Parmigiano-Reggiano are classic matches.
Can La Grola be aged?
Yes, La Grola has good aging potential and can develop further complexity for 5-10 years after release.
