Gambellara DOC
ガンベッラーラ DOC
Volcanic Garganega country next door to Soave, with pronounced minerality.
Gambellara DOC is a wine appellation in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, centered on the town of Gambellara at the eastern edge of the Lessini volcanic hills. The region's basaltic, volcanic soils are the defining feature of its wines, which are made almost exclusively from the indigenous Garganega grape (the same variety behind neighboring Soave). Styles range from crisp still whites and pét-nat style ancestral-method sparklers to skin-contact orange wines and the celebrated Recioto di Gambellara DOCG, a sweet passito made from dried grapes. Compared to Soave, Gambellara's wines are often prized for their more pronounced volcanic minerality and salinity.
Best for: Wine lovers seeking mineral-driven, volcanic white wines and natural/ancestral-method sparklers beyond the more famous Soave.

Food Pairings
Freshwater fish, risotto, vegetable antipasti, and soft cheeses pair naturally with the still whites; the passito Recioto di Gambellara suits dried fruit and pastries.
