Keitaro is a red wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, crafted by Yamato Budoshu to showcase the variety's elegance rather than its power. It belongs to the winery's "Royal" (Vin de Royal) line of cuvées, each named after a successive head of the founding Hagihara family. Keitaro Hagihara succeeded Yasutaro (Hotaro) as the family's 14th-generation head and went on to help found the Eleventh Grape Wine Cooperative (第十一葡萄酒組合), the organization that was incorporated in 1953 as Yamato Budoshu Co., Ltd.
Named for the 14th-generation head of the Hagihara family, Keitaro trades the power of Yamato Budoshu's other Royal-series reds for Pinot Noir's signature elegance — a quieter, more contemplative bottle in the lineup.
