Tenuta San Vincenti is a 60-hectare estate in Gaiole in Chianti, one of the oldest and most historically significant zones of the Chianti Classico appellation, about 30 kilometres from Siena. It is owned by Roberto Pucci, an entrepreneur from Prato who dedicated his resources to the property after falling for the beauty of the Chianti hills, with winemaking guided by celebrated consulting oenologist Carlo Ferrini, twice named Winemaker of the Year by Gambero Rosso and Wine Enthusiast. Vineyards run along a north-south ridge at 430-600 metres above sea level, entirely surrounded by forest on a south-facing slope overlooking Monte Amiata and the Crete Senesi hills. The two principal vineyards, Stignano (old and young Sangiovese) and Le Corticelle (Merlot), sit on a mix of clay and sandy marine soils. San Vincenti's first Chianti Classico vintage was bottled in 1974, and the estate today produces Chianti Classico DOCG, Riserva, and Gran Selezione, plus the rosé Gote Rosa made from 100% Sangiovese. The property was named among Forbes' essential Chianti Classico producers to know.
