Nyanbrusco is Sakaki Wine Brewing's lightly sparkling rosé, a playful nod to Italy's red fizz Lambrusco ("Nyan," a cat's meow, plus "-brusco"). Blended from Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, it is made by the same method as the winery's Miau rosé, with juice added for a secondary fermentation in bottle; because only the added juice's natural sugar drives that fermentation, the resulting bubbles are gentle rather than assertive, giving a refreshingly light, semi-sparkling style best suited to the warmer months. It is bottled exclusively in 375ml half-bottles.
Proof that a lightly sparkling rosé doesn't need to be serious to be well made — Nyanbrusco pairs playful branding with genuinely careful, juice-reserve bottle fermentation.
New to wine?
A gentle, easy-drinking semi-sparkling rosé with playful naming — a friendly first step into Japanese sparkling wine.
Food Pairings
The gentle bubbles and rosé-style fruit make it a versatile aperitif that suits light Italian antipasti, prosciutto and melon, or grilled chicken — a natural match given the winery's on-site Italian restaurant. It also works well with lightly seasoned Japanese small plates.
When to drink it
Warm-weather aperitifs, casual gatherings, and Italian-style light bites.
Terroir & Winemaking
A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon vinified in rosé style, then finished with a juice-reserve secondary fermentation in bottle (the same method used for the winery's Miau rosé). Because fermentation is driven only by the added juice's natural sugar, carbonation stays light (semi-sparkling rather than fully sparkling). Bottled at 12% ABV in 375ml half-bottles.
