A sparkling rosé from Sainte Neige Winery made with grapes grown in the Kaminoyama district at the foot of Mt. Zao in Yamagata Prefecture, one of Japan's premier winegrowing areas thanks to its well-drained soil, long sunshine hours, and wide day-night temperature swings. The wine is a balanced blend of Verdelet, which contributes freshness, and Merlot, which contributes fruit character. It shows a vivid rosé color with fragrant aromas of yellow peach and pear, fine, persistent bubbles, and an off-dry, fruit-forward palate balanced by refreshing acidity. Bottled at 720ml with a plastic stopper, product code 71172.
One of the few Japanese sparkling rosés built on the rare hybrid grape Verdelet — its citrus-driven freshness against Merlot's fruit makes for a distinctly Yamagata style of bubbles.
