Founded in 1997 by Maremma-born agronomist Gianpaolo Paglia together with English marketing manager Justine Keeling, Poggio Argentiera built its reputation as one of the leading estates of the Morellino di Scansano DOCG, farming vineyards around Podere Adua near the Maremma Regional Park and the hillside Podere Bacinello near Scansano. In 2015 the celebrated Suvereto estate Tua Rita took over management of Poggio Argentiera under a 20-year lease, and in 2021 acquired all of its assets outright; the property is now run by Giovanni Frascolla on behalf of the Bisti-Frascolla family, who also own Tua Rita. Organically farmed since 2009, the estate produces Sangiovese-driven reds — led by the flagship Bellamarsilia Morellino di Scansano — alongside the IGT Toscana blend Capatosta and a coastal Vermentino, all shaped by sandy, sea-breeze-cooled soils near the Tyrrhenian coast.
