Bailey A Osozumi ("late-picked Bailey A") is a single-vineyard red from Ohizumi Winery, made from fully ripened Muscat Bailey A grapes hand-harvested in October from the winery's home vineyard in Shimo-Iwasaki, Katsunuma. Aged in stainless tank rather than oak, it is vinified to spotlight the grape's natural concentration, giving a pure, juicy, fruit-forward style. It is sold as an independent product, distinct from the winery's oak-aged sibling bottling, 'Bailey A Osozumi Taru' (Barrel), which carries its own vintage lineup and a higher price point.

Sommelier's Note

Skip the oak and you get Muscat Bailey A at its purest — this tank-aged bottling is the most fruit-forward, food-friendly expression in Ohizumi's red lineup.

New to wine?
