Lingering Snow Zebra is a non-vintage white sparkling wine from Mizukake Brewery, a micro-winery on the Mizukake ridge above 1,000m in Hara Village, Nagano, in the Yatsugatake West Foothills Wine Valley. The cuvée blends estate-grown Pinot Gris (77%) from Hara Village's volcanic black soil with Albariño (23%) from Hakushu's granite soil, finished bone dry. Green apple, green lemon and white blossom aromas lead into a refreshing palate with a pleasant grapefruit-pith bitterness on the finish.
A striking high-altitude blend that proves Nagano's cool-climate whites can rival Alsace and Rías Baixas in one glass — don't skip the grapefruit-pith finish.
