Mars Koshu Sparkling is Château Mars' standard-line dry sparkling wine made from 100% Koshu grapes grown in the Kofu Basin of Yamanashi. Only free-run juice from grapes harvested at optimal ripeness in mid-September is used, fermented slowly at low temperature at Mars Hosaka Winery (part of Mars Yamanashi Winery). The result is an aromatic, dry sparkling white with notes of green apple and grapefruit, refreshing acidity, and fine bubbles. It is distinct from the winery's other Koshu-based sparklers: the skin-contact, off-dry Koshu Orange-Gris Sparkling, and the semi-sweet Makioka Koshu Sparkling.
Château Mars' standard-bearer Koshu sparkling — a crisp, dry benchmark against which the winery's more experimental orange-skin and semi-sweet sparklers can be compared.
