A structured red wine from Le CINQ Winery on the Niigata Wine Coast, made from 100% Syrah grapes and aged in French oak barrels. The wine shows the variety's signature spice-box character alongside ripe cassis and dark berry fruit, framed by the winery's traditionally elegant, gently-crafted house style. It is a rare example of Syrah grown and vinified in Japan's Niigata wine region.
One of the very few Syrahs made in Niigata — the French oak aging gives it a spice-and-cassis profile that punches well above its regional rarity.
New to wine?
An approachable way to try Syrah's peppery-spice character without heavy tannin — a good next step for those who enjoyed a soft Merlot.
Food Pairings
Classic Syrah territory: grilled or spice-rubbed lamb, peppered steak, and barbecued meats all match its spice and dark-fruit intensity. Also works well with rich, soy-and-ginger glazed dishes.
When to drink it
Barbecues, grilled meat dinners, and casual gatherings where a spicy, food-friendly red is welcome.
