La Fralluca is a small, family-run estate in the hills of Suvereto on Tuscany's coast, founded by Francesca and Luca, who left careers in Milan's fashion industry to build a life around wine. Vineyard planting began in 2005 on a plot surrounded by Mediterranean woodland, and the estate's largely underground winery — built into a natural depression for passive temperature control — was completed in 2009. Spread across roughly 45 hectares, of which 10 are under vine, the property is farmed organically, with vineyard work done by hand and each of its wines named after a figure from classical mythology transformed into a tree. The portfolio blends indigenous Sangiovese and Vermentino with international varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Viognier and Alicante Bouschet, all reflecting the stony, calcareous soils and cooling maritime breezes of the Suvereto appellation. La Fralluca is a member of the Consorzio Suvereto e Val di Cornia Wine, the producers' consortium established in 2021 to protect and promote the wines of the area.
