Made from 100% Campbell Early grapes grown in the Koresato district of Akaiwa City, Okayama Prefecture — the same 300-400m highland community that has supplied Koresato Winery's table-grape wines since its founding in 1985 — this red is a gentle, fruit-forward expression of Japan's most widely planted red grape variety. Campbell Early, a Vitis labrusca-based hybrid, gives the wine its signature candied-strawberry and grape-jelly aroma, soft, low tannins, and a light-medium body that echoes the mild climate of the Akaiwa highlands. Bottled at 720ml and 13% ABV.
This is Campbell Early doing exactly what it does best — juicy, unpretentious and instantly likable, proof that Japan's everyday table grape can make a genuinely enjoyable glass of red.
New to wine?
A soft, grapey red with almost no tannic bite — an easy first step into Japanese red wine.
Food Pairings
Its low tannins and bright red-berry sweetness make it a natural match for tare-glazed yakitori, char siu pork, and other slightly sweet Japanese home cooking; serve lightly chilled (14-16°C) to keep the fruit lively.
When to drink it
Casual home dinners, yakitori nights, and gifts for those new to red wine.
