Umi no Awa Rose ("Sea Foam Rose") is ITAYA Farm's sparkling rosé, made from Muscat Bailey A and Yama Sauvignon grown in the same sandy, wind-swept plot in Awao-cho, Hakui City, just 200 meters from Senrihama Beach on the Noto Peninsula. It is a distinct cuvée from the producer's other rosé, the still Umi no Rose (a Cabernet Sauvignon and Muscat Bailey A blend) — Umi no Awa Rose is built around Muscat Bailey A's delicate berry aromatics paired with Yama Sauvignon's fresh cassis and spice, finished with fine bubbles and the subtle coastal salinity the farm's wines are known for. Vinification is carried out under contract at SAYS FARM in Himi, Toyama Prefecture.

Sommelier's Note

Don't confuse this with the still Umi no Rose — Umi no Awa Rose is ITAYA Farm's only true sparkling rosé, and its Muscat Bailey A driven bubble is one of the most distinctive expressions of Noto's coastal terroir on the market.

New to wine?

A friendly, easy-drinking sparkling rosé with gentle bubbles and berry-fruit charm — a great first bottle for anyone curious about Japan's coastal wine terroir.

Food Pairings

Its bright bubbles and gentle salinity make it a natural match for oysters, sashimi, and grilled white fish from the Noto coast. Also pairs well with vegetable tempura, charcuterie, and light Japanese appetizers such as chilled tofu.

When to drink it

Perfect for toasts and celebrations, seaside gatherings, or as an aperitif before a Japanese seafood dinner.
