Otsuka Blanc (for HIDE) is the debut white wine from HIDEO ESTATE, a one-man wine brand founded by Hideo Yasui in Otsuka-cho, Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture. Made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in Yasui's own Otsuka vineyard, the wine was vinified under contract at Tokoname Winery Neighborhood in nearby Tokoname City. Released on March 20, 2025 — exactly three years after Yasui planted his first vines in Otsuka — it is a crisp, dry white with lemon-citrus and herbal aromas and a light, fresh palate. The wine's name honors Hidetoshi Nakata, the legendary Japanese footballer, reflecting Yasui's passion for football: the debut series also includes a Muscat Bailey A rosé, 'Otsuka Rosé (for CRUYFF),' named for Johan Cruyff.
A rare single-vineyard Chardonnay from Gamagori, Aichi, with vivid lemon aromatics and crisp acidity that speak plainly of its Otsuka terroir.
