Ducol Frères is a family estate in the hamlet of Roanne at Aurel, in the Diois area of the Drôme. According to the estate, Louis Ducol planted the first Muscat and Clairette vines along the Roanne river in 1850. Today the estate farms about 13 hectares under the Clairette de Die appellation and is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE). It makes Clairette de Die Tradition (Méthode Dioise Ancestrale, from Muscat à petits grains and Clairette blanche), Clairette de Die Brut and Crémant de Die, and also grows walnuts. The business is a SCEA (société civile d'exploitation agricole) registered since 1992, with Patrice Ducol as manager, and is a member of Vignerons Indépendants.
