Frequently Asked Questions

Is Seguin-Manuel certified organic?
Seguin-Manuel's estate vineyards are farmed using organic and biodynamic methods, and the domaine sources negociant grapes exclusively from certified organic growers — making it one of the most consistently organic-oriented négociant operations in Beaune.
What is Seguin-Manuel best known for?
The estate is particularly celebrated for its Savigny-lès-Beaune Premiers Crus (especially La Dominode) and Beaune Premiers Crus, which offer outstanding quality relative to their price — making them some of the best-value Premiers Crus in the Côte de Beaune.
What is Thibaut Marion's winemaking philosophy?
Thibaut Marion favors a hands-off, minimal-intervention approach: no chaptalization, relatively short macerations, hand-harvested and carefully sorted fruit, fermentation with ambient yeasts in old oak vats or barrels, and bottling largely without fining or filtration — all aimed at preserving the purity of fruit and the character of each terroir.
Since when has Seguin-Manuel practiced organic viticulture?
The estate has farmed organically and chemical-free since Thibaut Marion took over in 2004, with the vineyards achieving organic certification from the 2015 vintage onward.
