Chanter Kyoho is a sweet rosé from Diamond Winery (Chanter Wine) in Katsunuma, Yamanashi, made entirely from Kyoho — the large-berried, deeply colored table grape often called the 'king of grapes' in Japan. Sold in a 720ml bottle as part of the winery's regular (non-nouveau) line, it pours a vivid purple-pink and delivers the juicy, candied sweetness and soft acidity of fresh Kyoho fruit. On the winery's own product list it carries the old-fashioned nickname 'onna-goroshi' ('woman-killer'), a traditional term used for wines so easy-drinking they sneak up on you.
A rare commercial example of a Kyoho-based sweet rosé — an approachable, nostalgic style that captures Japan's beloved table grape in wine form.
New to wine?
A friendly first step for anyone who finds dry wine intimidating — it tastes like biting into a fresh, sweet Kyoho grape.
Food Pairings
Best served well-chilled as a dessert wine or aperitif. Pairs naturally with fresh fruit, light cream desserts, and mildly spicy Asian dishes; in a Japanese meal it works well alongside sweet-glazed yakitori (tare) or fruit-topped shira-ae.
When to drink it
Casual gatherings, dessert time, or a chilled aperitif on a warm afternoon.
