Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim
リースリング・グラン・クリュ・アルテンベルグ・ド・ベルグハイム
Cave de Ribeauvillé
Riesling
About this wine
Riesling from the 35-hectare Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru, a stony, shallow, fossil-rich red marl-limestone site in the neighboring village of Bergheim. Intense and distinctive on the nose with citrus, grapefruit, and white peach; beautifully balanced, mineral, and long on the palate.
Slightly more fruit-forward than Ribeauvillé's other Grand Crus — a friendly first step into Grand Cru Riesling.
Sommelier's Note
"Altenberg de Bergheim's red marl gives this Riesling a grapefruit-and-stone-fruit vividness that stands apart from Ribeauvillé's more austere village Grand Crus."
Food Pairings
A natural match for choucroute, roasted turbot, and semi-hard cheeses; its citrus-grapefruit vibrancy also pairs well with ponzu-dressed dishes and grilled fish.
When to drink it
Dinner parties, seafood tasting menus, cellar additions.

クロ・デュ・ザナケール
Clos du Zahnacker
WhiteRiesling · Pinot Gris · Gewurztraminer
Cave de Ribeauvillé's rarest and most historic cuvée: a field blend of equal parts Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer, co-harvested, co-pressed, and co-fermented from a single 1.24-hectare walled parcel within the Osterberg Grand Cru. Documented since the 8th century and exclusive to the cooperative since 1965, it shows a powerful, complex nose mixing Riesling's petrol edge, Pinot Gris's smokiness, and Gewurztraminer's rose and spice, with citrus, fig, and gunflint on a full, structured palate.
