Barolo Perno Riserva DOCG

バローロ・ペルノ・リゼルヴァ DOCG

Castello di Perno

Nebbiolo

About this wine

The estate's rarest and most prestigious bottling, made exclusively from the small parcel of Nebbiolo the estate owns in the historic Perno cru in Monforte d'Alba — the vineyard from which the property takes its name. Production is extremely limited, at roughly 1,200 bottles per vintage. Aged as a riserva in large oak casks, it shows dried rose, tar, leather, and dark cherry, with an austere, structured frame and considerable aging potential.

Beginner's Note

A powerful, age-worthy Barolo riserva — decanting is highly recommended to unlock its full character.

Sommelier's Note

"The estate's flagship — a scarce, terroir-driven riserva from the original Perno cru that defines the property's identity."

Food Pairings

Ideal with braised beef, roasted game, and aged cheeses; also pairs beautifully with umami-rich dishes such as Wagyu sukiyaki or soy-glazed grilled eel.

When to drink it

Milestone celebrations, formal dinners, or a centerpiece for a serious collector's tasting.
