Vigna d'Alceo

ヴィーニャ・ダルチェオ

Castello dei Rampolla

Cabernet Sauvignon · Petit Verdot

About this wine

Created in 1996 by Alceo's children Luca and Maurizia to honor their father's memory, Vigna d'Alceo is Rampolla's flagship Super Tuscan: a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend with a significant portion of Petit Verdot, sourced from a single high-density vineyard. Its debut vintage was named Italy's best red wine by Gambero Rosso. Dense, structured and powerfully aromatic, it shows dark fruit, graphite, leather and spice, with the concentration and grip to reward long cellaring.

Beginner's Note

Rampolla's most powerful wine — better suited to experienced Cabernet drinkers than first-timers.

Sommelier's Note

"Rampolla's most concentrated statement — Petit Verdot gives it a savage, structured edge that few Super Tuscans can match."

Food Pairings

A powerful wine for equally powerful dishes: braised short ribs, wagyu, or aged hard cheeses. Best enjoyed after several years of bottle age or a long decant.

When to drink it
