About this wine

Barolo Bricco Rocca is Cascina Ballarin's single-vineyard bottling from the Bricco Rocca site in La Morra, one of the estate's signature crus. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, it is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with extended skin maceration, then aged in oak for roughly two years before further bottle refinement. Multiple vintages (1999-2017) have been reviewed by Decanter, Falstaff, Wine Enthusiast and tracked on CellarTracker, showing notes of dried rose, red cherry, licorice and earthy spice framed by firm, structured tannins typical of La Morra Barolo.

Beginner's Note

A structured, classic Barolo — decant it for an hour to let its aromas open up fully.

Sommelier's Note

"A textbook La Morra Barolo — floral, structured, and a reliable benchmark for what Bricco Rocca can express in the glass."

Food Pairings

Pairs well with roasted red meats, braised game, and aged hard cheeses such as Castelmagno. Its firm tannins also stand up to umami-rich Japanese dishes like wagyu sukiyaki or unagi kabayaki glazed in soy-based tare.

When to drink it

Special dinners, cellar tastings, and gifts for serious Barolo collectors.
