About this wine
From Boroli's holding in the celebrated Cerequio vineyard, in the municipality of Barolo, at around 300 meters altitude with a south/south-east exposure nicknamed the 'Langhe Riviera' for its exceptional microclimate. Cerequio is regarded as one of the greatest historic crus of Barolo, and Boroli's version shows dried flowers, red cherry, licorice and moist earth, with a medium-bodied palate of finely polished tannins, fresh red fruit, citrus and a mineral character reminiscent of crushed limestone.
A more perfumed, elegant expression of Barolo than Villero — approachable aromatics with serious tannic backbone.

Boroli's entry-point Barolo DOCG is a traditional blend drawn from the estate's plots around Castiglione Falletto, showing the classic character of the appellation ahead of the single-vineyard crus. Fermented in stainless steel with extended cap maceration and aged in large Slavonian oak casks, it opens with wild strawberry, rose petal, cinnamon and cedar, leading to smooth, silky tannins and bright red fruit. As required for Barolo DOCG, it is aged a minimum of 38 months, including at least 18 months in oak, before release.

Sourced from Boroli's own plots within the historic Villero cru — over 15 hectares of south/southwest-facing vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, first documented in Vignolo Lutati's 1927 classification. The low-permeability clay-rich soil retains water even in dry vintages, giving the wine remarkable structure and ageing potential. Aromas of wilted rose, dried flowers and spice lead to a palate of excellent structure balanced with elegance, hallmarks of Castiglione Falletto's Barolos.

Boroli's flagship wine, from the Brunella vineyard — a monopole exclusively owned by the Boroli family, surrounding the Cascina La Brunella estate at the western end of the Villero subzone in Castiglione Falletto. Unlike most Barolo crus, which occupy a single hillside, Brunella extends around an entire oval-shaped hill, with Nebbiolo vines forming a ring around it; the name has identified this site since the 1600s, making it one of the oldest recorded vineyard names in the Langhe. The wine shows clear ruby red with light orange reflections, licorice-led aromatics followed by dark cherry, red currant, spice, chocolate and tree bark, with medium body, juicy acidity and firm, chalky tannins.

A more approachable expression of Nebbiolo, selected from Boroli's younger vines and north-facing plots that do not go into the Barolo bottlings. The number '1661' on the label pays tribute to the farmers who have cultivated the vineyards around the Boroli cellar for more than four centuries. Bright and fruit-forward, with red berry, cassis, raspberry, powdered licorice, violet and sweet almond, finishing with characteristic Nebbiolo notes of sweet herbs, earth and a hint of orange peel.

Langhe Chardonnay "Bel Amì"

Boroli's sole white wine, produced from a small vineyard of about one hectare on the north-facing slope of the Brunella hill. Bright straw yellow, with fruity notes of green apple and peach, lifted by a delicate hint of vanilla and oak spice from barrel aging. The palate is elegant with a minerally structure, soft woody notes, and a harmonious, persistent finish balancing acidity and body.
