About this wine

Known as Roda Dos until the 2001 vintage, Roda Reserva is made from vines over 30 years old across Rioja Alta. Hand-picked and fermented in open foudre, the wine is gravity-decanted to age around 15 months in new and one-year-old French barriques, then gravity-decanted again for bottling unfiltered and unfined. The result emphasizes red fruit character with sweet spice and a fresh, silky, voluptuous palate — a wine of real depth and class in a fruit-forward register.

Beginner's Note

A natural step up from Sela — more depth and structure while remaining approachable, and a great way to understand Roda's Reserva-level style.

Sommelier's Note

"Many consider Roda Reserva to outclass Gran Reservas from lesser producers — proof that Roda's 'second wine' is anything but secondary."

Food Pairings

Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, roast beef, Iberico ham, and aged Manchego. Its silky tannins also complement mushroom-based dishes.

When to drink it

Special dinners, gifting, and pairing with celebratory meat-centric meals.
