About this wine
Barolo Meriame is Azienda Agricola Sukula's flagship single-vineyard wine, produced from 100% Nebbiolo grown in the Meriame cru in Serralunga d'Alba, one of the most powerful and structured subzones of the Barolo DOCG. Vinified using traditional methods with extended maceration and aged in oak for roughly two years, the wine shows the concentrated dark fruit, dried rose, tar, and firm tannic backbone typical of Serralunga Barolo, with excellent aging potential.
A bold, tannic Barolo built for aging — decant for at least an hour and pair with rich food to let it shine.
Sommelier's Note
"A pleasant-surprise Barolo that punches above its micro-production scale — Serralunga power in a genuinely boutique bottling."
Food Pairings
Pairs beautifully with braised beef, roasted game, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Also complements umami-rich Japanese dishes such as soy-glazed grilled eel (unagi kabayaki) or simmered wagyu.
