Asuka Sparkling Chardonnay is a 100% single-varietal sparkling white wine made from estate-grown Chardonnay harvested at Asuka Wine's vineyards in Habikino, Osaka. It is produced using the traditional method (méthode champenoise) with secondary fermentation in the bottle, yielding a wine with citrus aromatics reminiscent of grapefruit, pineapple and green apple alongside toasty bread notes, a well-structured body, fine mineral character and gentle acidity. Bottled at 12% ABV in 750ml format, it is released as an annual vintage bottling — the current release is the 2022 vintage — and has an award record including a Gold Medal at the Japan Wine Competition 2023 (2020 vintage), Gold at the Japan Wine Competition 2024 (2021 vintage), and Bronze at the Japan Wine Competition 2025 (2022 vintage). It is a distinct sparkling counterpart to Asuka Wine's still Asuka Chardonnay.
Asuka Wine's back-to-back Gold Medal winner at the Japan Wine Competition — a traditional-method sparkling Chardonnay that proves Osaka's Habikino terroir can deliver serious, bready complexity alongside bright citrus fruit.

A great entry point into serious Japanese sparkling wine — traditional-method bubbles with approachable citrus fruit and no need for special occasions to enjoy it.
Food Pairings
Excellent with fresh seafood and sashimi, tempura, and light cream-based pasta or poultry dishes; the fine bead and citrus-driven acidity also make it a natural match for delicate dashi-based simmered dishes.
