Anne no Awa Blanc de Noirs is a pale pink, dry sparkling wine from Anne Winery in Komoro, Nagano, made by the traditional method (bottle-fermented, méthode champenoise) from a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Fine, mousse-like bubbles carry notes of ripe apple, fig, and raspberry with a subtle yeasty complexity from lees aging. Part of the 'Anne no Awa' (Anne's Bubbles) range labeled 'Pour les femmes pétillantes,' it pairs with a wide range of dishes.
A pale-pink, bottle-fermented sparkling wine from black grapes alone -- its fine mousse and ripe red-fruit character show why Nagano's Chikuma River Wine Valley is gaining recognition for sparkling wine.
