Yann Bertrand

ヤン・ベルトラン

New-wave Fleurie natural wine — pure, elegant, sulfur-free Gamay.

Yann Bertrand is a leading figure among the new generation of natural winemakers in Beaujolais. Based in Fleurie at his family's estate (Domaine Les Bertrand), he took over from his parents and farms roughly nine hectares certified organic and biodynamic since 2013. His wines come from Fleurie, Morgon, Saint-Amour, Lantignié, and Beaujolais-Villages parcels, virtually all Gamay. Influenced by Fleurie neighbors such as Yvon Métras and Julie Balagny, Yann works with cold carbonic whole-cluster fermentation in concrete tanks followed by aging in old oak barrels, adding no sulfur and bottling unfined and unfiltered. The wines are celebrated for their purity, elegance, and vibrant fruit expression of the region's granitic terroir.
