A full-bodied red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Yamaguchi Winery's own vineyard in Sanyo-Onoda City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, part of the estate's 'Vigneron' line -- a name that signals grapes grown and vinified in-house, from cultivation through fermentation. Grown on the alkaline, karst-derived soil linked to nearby Akiyoshidai, the blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon's structure with Cabernet Franc's aromatic lift for a concentrated, rich style distinct from the winery's single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon bottling and from its own Vigneron Dry Rosé made from Cabernet Franc alone.

Sommelier's Note

Yamaguchi Winery's only Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc blend -- a richer, more structured counterpart to its single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon and to the Vigneron rosé made from Cabernet Franc alone.

New to wine?

A rich, full-bodied introduction to Japanese Cabernet blends -- more concentrated than the winery's single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon, but still approachable.

Food Pairings

The rich, structured character of this Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc blend pairs well with grilled or roasted red meats, beef stew, and aged hard cheeses; its ripe dark-fruit concentration also complements richly seasoned dishes such as demi-glace sauces.

When to drink it

Dinners centered on red meat, gifts for fans of structured Japanese reds.
