About Weingut Weber
Weingut Weber is a family-run estate in Ettenheim, in the Breisgau district of Baden, at the transition between the Rhine Plain and the Black Forest. Founded in 1948 when Kosmas and Frieda Weber planted the first vines on the south-facing slopes of the former Barbara ore mine, the estate passed to their son Werner Weber in 1975 and is now run by Michael Weber, a member of Generation Riesling, together with his family. The 18-hectare vineyard is planted mainly to Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder and Spatburgunder, alongside Muller-Thurgau, Riesling and Scheurebe, grown on chalky loess soils. The estate's striking glass-and-concrete winery, recognized among Germany's TOP 50 Vinotheks by the German Wine Institute (DWI), also houses a restaurant and Southern Germany's largest walnut garden.
