About Weingut Thörle
Weingut Thörle is a family estate in Saulheim, in the heart of Rheinhessen, with winegrowing roots documented since 1517. Uta and Rudolf Thörle built the modern estate from 1985, and since 2006 their sons Christoph and Johannes Thörle have led it, rapidly establishing Thörle among Rheinhessen's top producers through strict yield reduction, hand harvesting, and spontaneous fermentation. The estate farms roughly 19–20 hectares across the three renowned Saulheim Einzellagen Hölle, Schlossberg and Probstey, whose limestone- and marl-rich soils give the wines their precise, mineral-driven character. Certified organic since the 2022 vintage, Thörle focuses on dry Riesling, Silvaner and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), alongside smaller plantings of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, and has earned recognition from guides such as Gault&Millau and Eichelmann as one of the region's leading estates.
