About Weingut Schlör
Weingut Schlör is a small, family-run VDP estate in Wertheim-Reicholzheim, in the Tauberfranken district of Baden. Founded in 1984 by Konrad and Monika Schlör as a self-marketing Besenwirtschaft, the estate has grown into one of Baden's most decorated producers while staying deliberately small — just over two hectares, farmed entirely within the single Reicholzheimer First vineyard on limestone (Muschelkalk) soils. Schlör has been a VDP member since 2010 and is especially celebrated for its dry red wines, above all Schwarzriesling (Pinot Meunier) and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), alongside Weißburgunder, Silvaner and Chardonnay. Low yields, traditional mash fermentation and extended barrel aging define the house style. Eichelmann named Schlör Winery of the Year for its red wine collection in 2016, and the estate continues to earn top marks from Gault&Millau, Vinum and Falstaff. The Schlörs farm sustainably — avoiding herbicides and insecticides and drawing on solar power — without seeking formal organic certification.
Who Is This For?
