VDP estate in Bad Dürkheim for Riesling and Scheurebe.

About Weingut Pfeffingen

Weingut Pfeffingen is a VDP estate in Bad Dürkheim, Pfalz, farmed by the Eymael family on the site the Schnell family began cultivating in the 17th century. Karl Fuhrmann converted the property fully to viticulture in 1952, and it has been a VDP member since 1986. Today the 17-hectare estate is run by Jan Eymael, with holdings in the VDP.Grosse Lage sites Ungsteiner Weilberg and Ungsteiner Herrenberg, prized for rare terra rossa and limestone soils, plus the VDP.Erste Lage sites Wachenheimer Schloßberg and Ungsteiner Nußriegel. Riesling makes up about half the plantings, complemented by a long-standing specialization in Scheurebe and smaller amounts of Pinot Blanc, Spätburgunder, Chardonnay, Silvaner and Gewürztraminer; the estate has also helped revive the rare Roter Riesling variety.
