About Weingut Knipser
Founded in 1876 by a family with roots in South Tyrol, Weingut Knipser is based in Laumersheim, Pfalz, and is run today by brothers Volker and Werner Knipser together with Werner's son Stephan. From the mid-1980s the estate pioneered barrique ageing for German red wines and co-founded the German Barrique Forum, building a reputation as one of the country's leading producers of barrel-aged Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), alongside Riesling, Chardonnay and other varieties grown on limestone and calcareous marl soils across roughly 80 hectares. The estate has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) since 1993.
Who Is This For?
