Weingut Karl Haidle

カール・ハイドレ

VDP grower of mineral Riesling from Remstal's steep slopes

About Weingut Karl Haidle

Founded in 1949 by Karl Haidle in Kernen-Stetten, a village in the Remstal valley of Württemberg, this is one of the region's oldest private, self-marketing estates. His son Hans expanded the holdings to roughly 23 hectares and joined the VDP in 1995; since 2014 the winery has been run by third-generation vintner Moritz Haidle, who converted the vineyards to organic farming and, from 2020, to biodynamics (Demeter, EU organic and respekt-BIODYN certified). Riesling accounts for over half of plantings, alongside Lemberger, Spätburgunder and Trollinger. The estate's flagship VDP.Grosse Lage site is Stettener Pulvermächer, a steep, west-facing, iron-veined sandstone slope near the Yburg ruins first documented in 1650, alongside other Grosse Lage sites such as Mönchberg and Schnaiter Altenberg/Burghalde.
