Weingut Hees

ヴァイングート・ヘース

Precision-driven, cool-climate Riesling from historic steep slopes above Auen.

About Weingut Hees

Weingut Hees is a family-run estate in the idyllic village of Auen in the Nahe region, with winemaking roots dating back to 1824. Since 2007, ninth-generation winemaker Marcus Hees, together with his wife Sabrina, has restored historic steep vineyards on clay-slate and sandstone soils, now farming around 11 hectares including the celebrated Römerstich site. Guided by a 'less is more' philosophy, low yields, late hand harvesting, and spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts produce precise, mineral-driven Riesling and Weissburgunder of great clarity and tension. The estate was named 'Aufsteiger des Jahres' (Rising Star of the Year) in the Vinum Weinguide 2026, and its 2021 Römerstich Riesling was rated 98 points by Stuart Pigott of JamesSuckling.com.
