About Weingut H. Freiberger
Founded in 1926 in Heppenheim by Heinrich and Elisabeth Freiberger, this family-run estate is now led by the third generation, with Charlotte Freiberger preparing to take over as the fourth. Cultivating roughly 16 hectares of steep vineyard sites such as Heppenheimer Maiberg, Steinkopf, Stemmler and Eckweg, the winery focuses on Riesling and Grauburgunder alongside Weißburgunder, Spätburgunder, Chardonnay, Silvaner, Kerner, Gewürztraminer, Saint Laurent, Dornfelder, and newer plantings of Goldmuskateller and the fungus-resistant variety Fidelio. The estate received the Hessian Staatsehrenpreis in both 2022 and 2023, was home to the German Wine Princess 2017/18, and hosts the annual "Jazz meets Wine" tasting event each May.
