About Weingut Glaser-Himmelstoss

Weingut Glaser-Himmelstoss is a family estate in Franken formed by the marriage of Wolfgang Glaser, of Nordheim am Main, and Monika Himmelstoss, of Dettelbach, which united both families' vineyards. Now run together with their daughter Julia, the estate has been a VDP (Verband Deutscher Pradikatsweinguter) member since 1974 and farms roughly 14 hectares across the Maindreieck villages of Nordheim and Dettelbach, on Muschelkalk (shell-limestone) soils with loam and sand. Silvaner and Muller-Thurgau lead the portfolio alongside Riesling, Spatburgunder, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, Scheurebe and Schwarzriesling, sourced from classified sites such as Dettelbacher Berg-Rondell (VDP.Erste Lage), Dettelbacher Sonnenleite, Nordheimer Vogelein, Nordheimer Kreuzberg and Sommeracher Katzenkopf. Wines are fermented and bottled at the Nordheim cellar, while the Dettelbach location houses a half-timbered vinotheque and the Himmelstoss restaurant.
